Race 4 Canterbury 5.35 Tanglewood (best price 7/4)

Progressive form making the breakthrough impressively at Taree and then following up by 4 lengths at Grafton last time; can improve again and should be able to complete the hat-trick here.

This looks a great chance for TANGLEWOOD to make it 3 in a row! He has taken his form up a few notches recently bolting up at Taree and then winning by 4 lengths at Grafton last time. He will go on improving for a while yet and looks well placed to land the hat-trick. Pink Cashmere won on debut but she has been a little frustrating since and will need to bounce back after finishing near last at Moonee Valley when last seen to win this. Silvanito didn’t shape badly when third at Wyong last time and might emerge as a greater threat to the favourite.

Race 5 Doomben 5.53 Kronenbourg (best price 7/2)

Likeable type who has looked back to his best recently winning over C&D last month and then following up at Eagle Farm last time, knuckling down well for pressure; obvious claims again.

I am surprised KRONENBOURG isn’t favourite for this as he looks to complete a hat-trick of wins. I know he only prevailed by a nose last time but he kept finding for pressure and looks back on the upgrade now. He is proven over the trip unlike the favourite and should have a great chance. Rosovo is going the right way too and will still be the danger. Of the rest Cash Me won at Gatton and then shaped well when third at Rockhampton so also has a chance. Victory Bay needs to get back to his best to have a chance but might be able to rattle the frame.
