NAP – Best tip overnight
Race 5 Ballarat 4.55 Cape Doctor (best price 6/4)
The unbeaten CAPE DOCTOR looks well placed to complete the hat-trick at Ballarat overnight. He was well backed on debut and got the job done in good style before following up at the same venue last time. He stretches out in trip slightly again and with more to come should salute the judge once more. Monarchs Brae is a useful yardstick and will likely keep the favourite honest. Sachem has gone off the boil a bit but if he bounces back he is another one to note. Big Story was back to form at Pakenham but still needs more to spring a surprise in this.

Race 8 Ascot 9.42 Highest Award (best price 7/4)
With 2 wins from her last 4 the progressive HIGHEST AWARD looks the one to be on at Ascot on Wednesday morning. She justifies market support to come out on top at this track at the start of the month and a similar run here would likely suffice. Awesome Chatter put that Bunbury run behind him to go close at Northam and could emerge as the main danger. Roch Legacy only has 2 wins from 24 and was nearer last than first at Northam so has a bit to find on that. Guard The Safe could hit the frame but finished last here latest so that is a bit worrying.
