NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) LANDED AGAIN YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT TAUNTON ON WEDNESDAY!
Taunton 1.35 Broken Quest (2/1)
Smart type who won three times in 2018; defied a monster absence back from 982 days off to win convincingly at the line at Ludlow earlier this month; up 8lb but 7lb claimer booked for the ride; big chance to go in again.
Back from a mammoth layoff it was great to see BROKEN QUEST as good as ever on debut for Tom Symonds. He hit the line notably strong under Becky Smith and up 8lb for that his rise in the weights is largely negated by his 7lb claimer. He won a point-to-point over this trip and remains unexposed as a stayer under Rules. There should be a fair bit to come yet. Dell’ Arca rolled back the years to win at Aintree and then follow up at Newbury. He wasn’t so good last time though and does need to bounce back but this mark isn’t beyond him. Colonel Manderson should do better with that reappearance run under his belt and it wouldn’t surprise me if he emerged as the main danger to the selection.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT MARKET RASEN ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON!
Market Rasen 1.45 Getaway Mag (5/2)
Likeable mare who left hurdling form behind to make an impressive winning start over fences at Southwell; 9lb rise makes life tougher but she has more to come in this sphere and looks one to keep on side especially given the yards form.
I’m quite surprised GETAWAY MAG isn’t shorter than 5/2 at the time of writing. She impressed on chase debut and while she wandered a bit close home she was well on top at the time and jumped well. She can improve and even under a 9lb rise I fancy her to make it 2-2 now chasing. Checkitout should have won at Ludlow but then failed to make the most of a good opportunity at Bangor last time. Still a big player off the back of that form and looks the one to give the selection a race. Galileo Silver is interesting now tackling fences so is also respected. At a bigger price it wouldn’t surprise me if Le Cameleon ran well and hit the frame. It’s a good race for the grade.
