THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 5 AT FLEMINGTON ON WEDNESDAY!

Race 5 Flemington 6.20 Barb Raider (1/1)

Good looking filly who has improved with every run; caught the eye when second on penultimate start and progressed again to win impressively last time; more to come over this extra yardage and one to keep safe.

The progressive BARB RAIDER should follow up here for Jerome Hunter and Craig Williams. She really sprinted away from them last time and she is still learning her trade. She goes up in distance again which should help and with more to come she gets a confident vote to come out on top against these. She could be quite smart so anything around even money looks a price worth taking. Gonnadancealot is promising herself but her form isn’t as strong as the selection. She did win at Flemington last time though so can give her something to think about at least. Blackcomb is getting the hang of things too and shouldn’t be all that far away, best of the rest.

Race 7 Doomben 8.13 Dominarcher (13/8)

Promising chestnut who brought up the hat-trick showing a good attitude to prevail by a nose here back from 6 months off; 2 from 2 over this trip now so ticks plenty of boxes and should win this before going on to better things.

Hard to get away from the likeable and improving DOMINARCHER for Billy Healey and James Orman. He did well to win on return and is unbeaten over this trip so is hard to oppose in what appears to be another winnable opportunity. Even at the time of writing the 13/8 is under pressure so he is going to be well backed. In terms of a danger Jack The Lad might only be 1 win from 11 starts but he has been running to a consistent level so I think he will keep the favourite honest. Moonan Me is exposed in comparison to the front pair but hasn’t been running that badly either so also has to be considered to some extent. Hard to see any of the other four landing a blow.
