Race 10 Randwick 7.05 Norwegian Bliss (best price 11/10)
Unbeaten mare who is a perfect 6 from 6; looked exciting last campaign and capped it off with a convincing win at Hawkesbury when last seen 6 months ago; scope to keep improving and good chance to go in again.
All eyes will be on the returning NORWEGIAN BLISS at Randwick on Tuesday. This mare has a perfect record winning 6 from 6 and promises to do even better having been given time to improve further. She has had two recent trials to put her spot on for this and gets 2kg weight relief with Gibbons’ claim. She should take an awful lot of beating! Bullet Rider has won 3 from 7 overall and looked back to his best when getting his head in front at Warwick Farm last time. If he steps forward again he looks to be the biggest danger in here. Grande Rumore is a good looking mare who is 4 from 20 overall and a bit more exposed than most. She is 0/2 at this track though so likely needs to find more here.

Race 2 Flemington 12.20 White Marlin (best price 11/8)
Exciting grey who hasn’t put a foot wrong yet winning 4 from 4 and impressing at Caulfield hitting the line strong; remains open to further progress yet and this looks a good opportunity to make it four straight.
Another unbeaten horse as one of my best bets in the shape of WHITE MARLIN. He thundered home last time to win with a bit up his sleeve again and if he improves once more he should have too many gears for this field. There should be an end-to-end gallop on and that will help the selection. Caboche is second favourite but only has the 2 wins from 15 starts so perhaps that tells you about the lack of quality on show. Verimli has 3 wins from 11 starts so a little more unexposed but he could only finish third at Bendigo so will still need more. Team Captain has the form to run a place but hasn’t been firing lately so is passed over once more. Herman Hesse needs more as was poor last time.

Melbourne Cup Tips and Preview
I always look forward to the Melbourne Cup as it is a race I have done really well in from a punting perspective over the years! I managed to find Almandin at 11/1 and Rekindling at 14/1 before bringing up the hat-trick with Cross Counter back in 2018 at 8/1! The last couple of years haven’t been as easy but it is still a race I set the alarm for. This year looks all about one horse for me and that is DEAUVILLE LEGEND for James Ferguson. This son of Sea The Stars has looked thoroughly progressive winning 2 of his last 3 starts in England. His win at York was impressive and he should relish this step up to 2 miles. He looks a strong stayer and deserves to be favourite here given the potential he brings to the table.
With 24 heading to post and the each way enhancements on offer I have to include a couple at huge odds. GOLD TRIP looks a decent play from stall 14. This son of Outstrip ran a monster race to finish a neck back in second in the Caulfield Cup and wasn’t beaten far behind Anamoe in the Cox Plate last time. He shapes as though he’ll enjoy this extra yardage and looks one of those overpriced. The other one I thought had a good chance of hitting the frame was DAQIANSWEET JUNIOR who is drawn next door. He won his only start over this trip in the Adelaide Cup and that was arguably a career best. I know he hasn’t fired so far this season but he hasn’t been beaten far (only 3 lengths last time) and could hit the frame likely staying on strongly late.
