MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT ASCOT ON SATURDAY!

Race 7 Ascot 8.13 Live To Tell (best price 1/1)

Good looking chestnut filly who improved from her debut run to win at this track last month and then followed up here again last time in Group company; clearly an exciting filly who will be hitting the line hard.

It is hard to look past LIVE TO TELL here as she is only going to keep improving as she moves up in trip. She can be slowly into stride but that hasn’t stopped her the last twice and I think she’ll swoop late to complete the hat-trick. Super Smink impressed winning at Pinjarra but then couldn’t handle the favourite last time and is strictly held on that run. Wiley Girl improved to open her account here last time and is also respected but she will need to improve again given the strength of this race. Ripcord won on debut and could still be anything so isn’t ruled out but this is a much sterner test of his credentials so potentially up against it.

Race 1 Eagle Farm 2.43 Headwall (best price 6/4)

Promising type who has won 3 of his 5 starts so far with two wins coming at this track; obviously open to further improvement and if he does step forward again the rest will be playing catch up for sure.

The money is coming for HEADWALL and it is easy to see why. He has won 3 from 5 so far and can keep improving for a while yet. Fetch won at Doomben but then was held in fourth last time. If she gets back to her best she could threaten but a little to prove. Crosswinds is a nice colt and he might even be a bigger danger as he shaped better than at Flemington when second at this track last time so should run well. Mishani Sniper is on a hat-trick but finds himself in much deeper company here so will need to dig deep just to get seriously competitive. Ruby July best of the rest but again this is a very good race so she’ll need to be at her best to get involved.
