I really wouldn’t judge REIGNING KING too harshly on that run at Eagle Farm last time. He was beaten 4 lengths and just finished tired having gone too hard. He was progressing well prior to that winning two in a row and back down in trip at a track that suits he should prove too good.

I saw enough in that debut run from EL JAMES to make him a strong play here. He was only beaten 3 lengths and was sent off quite a big price suggesting he’ll improve plenty for it. This is winnable and he should make the breakthrough. Morthan Efficient is the obvious danger.
