Newmarket 3.45

None of these 2yos have run before so it is a guess-up to kick off the Sunday Series at Newmarket this afternoon. A tentative vote goes to BOLD IMPACT for Ralph Beckett. This Blue Point colt cost €350,000 as a yearling and he is well related. The yard know how to ready one and I think he’ll go close first time out.

Ancient Truth is likely to go off favourite for Charlie Appleby. He is by Dubawi and if fit enough could easily be the one to beat. Of the rest Patrol catches the eye being by Dark Angel and he is related to the talented Fev Rover.

Newmarket 3.45

Bold Impact 11/2 each way

Main danger Ancient Truth but Patrol could run a nice race too – market informative

Newmarket 4.15

The money is coming for BERKSHIRE ROCCO and it is easy to see why. This horse has some of the best form on offer and just shaped as though he needed the outing when down the field behind Bague D’or over C&D a fortnight ago. This is easier and his class should see him hard to beat.

Too Friendly won at Kempton but has been poor the last twice over hurdles at Plumpton and then down the field at Chester. This test will suit better and a hood replaces cheekpieces so he could still be the danger.

Newmarket 4.15

Berkshire Rocco 2/1

Main danger Too Friendly

Naas 4.30

This is wide open as the betting is suggesting but I can see CHICAGO CRITIC getting competitive for Johnny Murtagh. He has only had the 4 starts to date and while he was down the field at Leopardstown last time that testing ground probably didn’t suit and it was a tough ask anyway. He can improve now handicapping so lively shout.

Sharinay looked good winning at Cork and now handicapping could be up to the task and is feared. Air Commander won at Dundalk before struggling last time. He could get back on track and get involved here.

Naas 4.30

Chicago Critic 11/2 each way

Main danger Sharinay

Newmarket 4.45

Despite being slowly into stride MAHBOOB was still good enough to make a winning debut at Lingfield last year. He impressed on that occasion and then given time returned with an even better performance to follow up at Lingfield last month. He has more to come now handicapping and looks one to keep on side.

Daysofourlives only missed a head on reappearance and if building on that could be the biggest danger. Gloucestershire might not be on a bad mark either but probably needs more to trouble the market principals.

Newmarket 4.45

Mahboob 7/4 NEXT BEST

Main danger Daysofourlives

Naas 5.00

Like a lot of these handicaps in Ireland this has a fiercely competitive look to it and I’m going to chance WIGMORE STREET at a decent each way price for Joseph O’Brien. This son of American Pharoah was impressive on debut winning by 5 lengths at Kempton. He blew out at Dundalk last time but now handicapping could have lots more to come.

Plenty of dangers which is to be expected probably headed by Desert Haven who improved on return to win at Leopardstown and if handling this quicker ground which he has in the past should run well. Mr King is another one who can get competitive.

Naas 5.00

Wigmore Street 9/1 each way

Main danger Desert Haven

Newmarket 5.15

I know DOUBLE TIME failed to fire on return at Wolverhampton but he was just way too keen that day and he left that behind to go close at Yarmouth last month. He was only headed in the final few strides and that form has already been boosted with the winner Great Blanket following up in a good race since. He cuts back to 7f and should run big.

Flying Secret didn’t shape badly at all when fourth behind Mustajaab on return last month and will be spot on now so looks the danger. Noodle Mission is quite a big price and might be a bit of value to hit the frame.

Newmarket 5.15

Double Time 11/4

Main danger Flying Secret but Noodle Mission could hit the frame

Newmarket 5.45

Another open race but WARM SPELL makes appeal at a decent price. He was an eye-catcher on debut and then improved to win at Newbury beating Skukuza. That form looks decent so despite blowing out at Doncaster he could resume his progress now returning as a 3yo.

Al Shabab Storm was denied just a neck at Chester and clocked quite a good time in defeat so could easily be the one to give him most to think about. Completely Random was poor on return but should leave that behind and is also noted.

Newmarket 5.45

Warm Spell 8/1 each way LONGSHOT

Main danger Al Shabab Storm

Newmarket 6.15

After a couple of decent runs in defeat ISLE OF LISMORE was back to his best winning by half a length at Ascot last time. He is up 4lb but is a sprinter clearly thriving right now and it would be no great surprise to see him follow up against these. He should run a massive race again.

Pepsi Cat is a likeable mare who is also in a purple patch and that fifth at Bath wasn’t a bad effort at all. Harry Brown will find this easier and is another one I can see landing a blow if putting his best hoof forward.

Newmarket 6.15

Isle Of Lismore 4/1

Main danger Pepsi Cat and also Harry Brown is a threat

Newmarket 6.45

Unexposed filly SUNFALL looks the one to side with here. She looked to need the experience on debut at Newcastle on sole start as a 2yo and left that behind to make a winning return at Kempton last month. She impressed with how well she stayed on through the line suggesting this step up to a mile will be firmly in her favour. An opening mark of 76 should be lenient and I’m keen to keep her on side even though she could go off favourite for this.

Heartwarmer has a similar profile and ran well when third to Thursday’s Child at Pontefract. That form is pretty solid so she looks the danger. Royal Velvet has won 2 from 3 and is another one going the right way so is also worth respecting.

Newmarket 6.45

Sunfall 9/2 VALUE TIP

Main danger Heartwarmer

ITV Racing Sunday Series Acca

I have picked out this acca for the racing on Sunday. It has a mix of win and place so is specific to bet365. Pays 12/1!
